State of Illinois to Enter the 'Bridge Phase'

Governor Pritzker announced on Thursday, May 6, 2021, that the entire state will enter the 'Bridge Phase' with less restrictive mitigations on Friday, May 14th, and barring any significant reversals in key COVID-19 statewide indicators, full reopening will take place four weeks later, on June 11th.

The ‘Bridge Phase’ will allow for expanded capacity limits for businesses and gatherings before the state moves to a full reopening in Phase 5.

During the announcement that the state was on schedule to reach the full reopening phase on June 11th, the Governor said the state “will continue to follow CDC guidelines on masking to keep this pandemic at bay.”
