Efforts to Protect Illinois Communities and Frontline Workers in the ongoing Fight against COVID-19

Friday, August 7th, marked the announcement by Governor Pritzker of new Illinois Department of Public Health Rules to provide local law enforcement more flexibility and a measured process to enforce public health guidance, as well as the signing by the Governor of Senate Bill 471 to provide additional protections for frontline workers and expand paid disability leave.

2020 Spring Session Recap - Illinois General Assembly

The FY2021 budget was the biggest issue to be addressed for Members of the Illinois General Assembly returning to Springfield on Wednesday, May 20th, for the 2020 Spring Special Session. This proved true, as the three-day scheduled session carried over to a fourth day on Saturday. Working into the early morning hours of Sunday, lawmakers reach agreement on the FY2021 State Budget. Following final approval of the FY2021 Spending Plan, the 2020 Spring Session adjourned.
