U.S. Department of Treasury Releases New Spending Report

On August 24, 2020, the U.S. Department of Treasury released a much more comprehensive interim report of costs, by category, incurred by state and local Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) recipients through June 30, 2020 in comparison to the interim report originally released earlier in the month that only provided the total amount of funds incurred by CRF recipients.

The newly released interim report uses broad spending categories, such as payroll, transfers to local governments, medical expenses, and economic support, to show how CRF proceeds have been spent in Illinois, as well as other states.
