Protections Extended for First Responders & Frontline Essential Workers Impacted by COVID-19

On February 26, 2021 Governor Pritzker signed HB4276 into law, effective immediately, extending protections for Illinois' first responders and frontline essential workers impacted by COVID-19.

Under the new legislation, worker's compensation benefits for first responders and frontline essential workers who were exposed to and contracted COVID19 through their job are extended until June 30, 2021 (rather than December 31, 2020).
