10 of the 11 Regions in Illinois Under COVID-19 Resurgence Mitigations

Two more Illinois regions will soon be operating under COVID-19 resurgence mitigations ... Region 6 (East Central Illinois) mitigations go into effect on Monday, November 2nd. While Region 3 (West Central Illinois) mitigations start Sunday, November 1st.

Region 11 (City of Chicago) ... added to the growing number of Illinois regions implementing COVID-19 resurgence mitigations, starting Friday, October 30th.

Public Health officials announce COVID-19 resurgence mitigations will be implemented in Region 9 (Lake and McHenry Counties) beginning Saturday, October 31st.

With the addition of Region 4 (Metro East) and Region 10 (Suburban Cook County) to those regions currently operating under the state's resurgence framework, officials report that 6 of Illinois' 11 regions will be implementing COVID-19 resurgence mitigations beginning Wednesday, October 28th.

Northwestern Illinois/Region 1... October 25th more stringent measures were added to resurgence mitigations put in place on October 3rd due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The 20 southern Illinois counties that make up Region 5 ... Marion, Jefferson, Wayne, Edwards, Wabash, Perry, Jackson, Franklin, Williamson, Saline, Hamilton, White, Gallatin, Union, Johnson, Pope, Hardin, Alexander, Massac and Pulaski ... implemented resurgence mitigations on October 22nd.

The implementation of COVID-19 resurgence mitigations started October 23rd in the four northern Illinois counties that make up Region 7 (Will and Kankakee) and Region 8 (Kane and DuPage).

Mitigation measures to be implemented include:

Bars

  • No indoor service
  • All outside bar service closes at 11:00 p.m.
  • All bar patrons should be seated at tables outside
  • No ordering, seating, or congregating at bar (bar stools should be removed)
  • Tables should be 6 feet apart
  • No standing or congregating indoors or outdoors while waiting for a table or exiting
  • No dancing or standing indoors
  • Reservations required for each party
  • No seating of multiple parties at one table

Restaurants

  • No indoor dining or bar service
  • All outdoor dining closes at 11:00 p.m.
  • Outside dining tables should be 6 feet apart
  • No standing or congregating indoors or outdoors while waiting for a table or exiting
  • Reservations required for each party
  • No seating of multiple parties at one table

Meetings, Social Events, Gatherings

  • Limit to lesser of 25 guests or 25 percent of overall room capacity
  • No party buses
  • Gaming and Casinos close at 11:00 p.m., are limited to 25 percent capacity, and follow mitigations for bars and restaurants, if applicable
