The Practical Guide to County Government Law" in 2015, recognizing the need of county board members and county officials to have current reference guides necessary to properly conduct the business of their office as they are confronted on a regular basis with the ever-increasing complex regulatory climate, statutory changes, Attorney General opinions and judicial decisions.
The purpose of this County Government Practical Guide is to help assist elected and appointed county board members, officers and officials in performing their duties and responsibilities, and serve as a resource to those county officials in recognizing critical issues and the necessity to address those issues in conformance with Illinois law and in the best interest of its citizens.
County board members and their elected officers, when confronted with legal questions, must rely upon their respective state’s attorney and seek his or her advice. This Guide is not intended to supplant or substitute the advice and consultation of their state’s attorney.
The “Practical Guide to County Government Law” (2015 paperback edition) is currently not available for purchase. However, an electronic flip book version can be purchased below. The electronic version is always the most current version available and includes all updates as they are made.
