Statewide COVID-19 Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigations Announced

11/17/2020

On November 17th, Governor Pritzker and Illinois Department of Public Health officials announced new mitigation restrictions in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19 as regions in Illinois face a second wave of coronavirus infections.

While this latest round of mitigations is not a stay-at-home order but aims at limiting gatherings and encouraging residents to stay home as much as possible and follow proper safety measures when out in public, another order could be required if mitigations are not adhered to and cases continue to rise in the coming weeks.

Currently, the sharp increase in coronavirus infections across Illinois, the Midwest and the nation is forcing many hospital systems to postpone elective surgeries, while continuing to push hospital staffing to its limits.
